The 360 VR Project

VirtualMalta.com represents a significant cultural initiative led by the Eastern Regional Council, uniting the collaborative efforts of 12 local councils in the central region of Malta.

Initiated in 2019 under the vision of the then-president of the Regional Council, the project aimed to establish a comprehensive online platform highlighting the diverse cultural and historical sites under the region's jurisdiction.

The website serves as a showcase for the region's cultural highlights, employing an engaging and informative medium accessible to both locals and visitors – the immersive 360 Virtual Reality experience.

Over the course of a five-year journey, numerous cultural and historic sites have been meticulously scanned and researched to create compelling 360 Virtual Tours. This extensive process involves careful planning, coordination with interested parties , on-site image capturing, historical research, script writing, voiceovers, and a seamless content integration for optimal viewing across all platforms, including VR headsets.
